Musician playing in a public space during Make Music Day
For Musicians, Bands and Artists

Play for Brazil — and for the world.

On June 21, more than 2,000 cities around the world make music simultaneously. You can be part of it.

To participate is to take a stand.

Make Music Day is not an event to be seen at. It is a movement that exists to draw attention to the importance of playing, composing and making music — in all its forms, in all spaces.

"We believe in the power of music and everything it brings that is good for human beings — creativity, discipline, expression, community, mental health and belonging."

By participating, you engage with a cause. A cause that fights the prejudice that music has no future, that it is only for those with natural talent, that it is a professional's domain. Make Music Day says the opposite — and needs your presence to say it louder.

Do I need to be famous?

No. Make Music Day is democratic by definition. From beginner to professional, from solo to ensemble — everyone has a place.

Where do I play?

In any public space, square, pavement, terrace or at partner stages — shops, bars, schools, cultural centres. You choose the venue or use our network of registered spaces.

Does it cost anything?

Zero. Participation is 100% free for musicians and for the audience.
